Dallas-area actor joins 'Moonlight' co-stars in new ad campaign for Calvin Klein

The cast of Moonlight was united in sartorial solidarity even before the film -- eventually -- won best picture at Sunday night's Oscars.

The men -- and actress Naomie Harris -- were all dressed in the clean lines from designer Calvin Klein.

On Monday, interested parties found out it was more than coincidence.

Little Elm's Trevante Rhodes, best supporting actor winner Mahershala Ali, Ashton Sanders and Alex Hibbert were unveiled as the stars of a new underwear ad campaign for Calvin Klein.

Ali, the first Muslim actor to win an Oscar, appears modest. In one photo, he's seated in what could be a dining chair, wearing a black T-shirt. In another, he looks directly into the camera, shirtless, bending forward.

Rhodes didn't go the modest route.

In one of the shots, he's sprawled in a chair, wearing nothing but briefs and a smile. That's some Texas gumption right there.

In another, he's up from the chair, but wearing the same outfit.

The younger co-stars are a bit more demure, but it is an underwear ad after all.

The advertisers have the press around Moonlight ticking like a very expensive watch. The groundbreaking film came out Tuesday, Feb. 28, on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD.

And that's a good thing, considering the Oscars flub that had La La Land as the winner of the best picture award had stolen some of the thunder. Sanders revealed to TMZ that the flub made the victory for best picture "more exciting" and "super rad." This new ad campaign is serving the same purpose.
