Dallas-based Bennigan's offers Jon Stewart a job

Bennigan's "has agreed to make room for the washed-up, so-called comedian/newsman" we all know as Jon Stewart. It's the least they can do for a guy who might not have another paycheck coming his way once he bows out of The Daily Show Thursday night.

Stewart would be welcome to join the wait staff at Bennigan's, according to the Dallas-based company's spokesman. As for a manager or bartender position, well, that wasn't mentioned.

"Let's be honest," says Paul Mangiamele, CEO and president of the restaurant and bar, "what's he qualified to do now?"

Mangiamele suggests Stewart just "give[s] him a call" once he's out there twiddling his thumbs.
