Two North Texas real estate pros to receive honors

Jack Fraker will also be this year’s lifetime achievement award winner at the North Texas Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame.

Two North Texans will be the latest recipients of the commercial real estate industry’s top award.

Bill Vanderstraaten of Chief Partners L.P. and Scott Rohrman of 42 Real Estate will be inducted into the North Texas Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame in May.

Past honorees include iconic developer Trammell Crow, along with Henry S. Miller Jr., the legendary leader behind the self-named brokerage company.

Vanderstraaten’s real estate investment firm Chief Partners, which he founded in partnership with Trevor Rees-Jones and the Rees-Jones family, has about $1.4 billion in assets under management and has placed over $1.1 billion in equity. His portfolio includes Frisco’s Fields, a land purchase now home to the headquarters of PGA of America, and Fort Worth’s mixed-use Clearfork development.

Rohrman has made his legacy developing build-to-suit projects across the U.S. Locally, Rohrman made his mark on Dallas’ historic Deep Ellum neighborhood with the assemblage of over 55 parcels in the area. His redevelopment of the area prioritized the historic roots of the community, restoring vintage buildings and incorporating 42 murals from local artists into the reshaping effort. Rohrman also has control of more than 30 properties in Dallas’ The Cedars and downtown areas.

Jack Fraker, who joined Newmark last year as president and global head of industrial and logistics capital markets, will receive this year’s Michael F. McAuley Lifetime Achievement Award. Fraker, who joined Newmark after nearly two decades with CBRE, has spent more than 35 years working in real estate.
