It's National Tequila Day! Try something other than a margarita

Although the margarita is the most popular tequila cocktail in the United States, National Tequila Day on July 24 will hopefully inspire some new concoctions, whether they be on the rocks, frozen, neat or mixed.

Milagro Tequila bridges two worlds -- the romance, history and honesty of traditional tequila, with the vibrancy, international flavor and sophistication of modern day Mexico City. Capturing the true essence of the spirit's origin, the blue agave, it provides a bursting flavor of freshness with the smoothness of a world-class spirit, set to inspire a new generation of tequila cocktails while embracing the classics. Try this recipe on for size.

Lavender Paloma

  • 2 parts Milagro Silver
  • 1 part fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 part lavender and vanilla syrup
  • 1/2 part fresh lime juice
  • Top with dry lavender soda
  • Garnish: grapefruit peel, lavender sprig, and kosher salt

In a shaker filled with ice, pour the Milagro, grapefruit juice, syrup and lime juice, and shake vigorously. Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice. Top with dry lavender soda, garnish and enjoy.
