You could measure a restaurant's popularity on Cinco de Mayo by checking its liquor sales, perhaps. Or by counting the sheer number of people who come through the door during business hours. Another way to look at Cinco de Mayo popularity is to track the number of places a transportation company like Lyft most regularly dropped off or picked up.

Because, hey, a safe ride on a day known for drinking is a good thing.

Below is a list of Lyft's most popular spots in D-FW on Cinco De Mayo, as pulled from Lyft's May 5, 2017 dropoffs and pickups inside the company's D-FW coverage area. While Lyft's data isn't the full picture of which bar or restaurant is the most popular on Cinco de Mayo, it's one good indicator.

Note that most -- eight -- are Tex-Mex or Mexican restaurants, as expected. Interestingly, though, one is a driving range and another is an outdoor bar.
