Feel like dumpster diving? Thankfully, it's not for food. DEBC is bringing in two industrial-size dumpsters, putting liners in them so they're not gross, and then filling them with water for one of the quirkiest pool parties you'll ever attend. Live music and food trucks are also lined up for the 21-and-older party that runs Sept. 5 from noon to 10 p.m. A $15 entry charge gets you three beers and a DEBC glass. 2823 St. Louis St., Dallas. deepellumbrewing.com.

Double Wide

Play a unique form of bingo that involves chickens and their by-products, hit up a monthly flea market, dine on food truck goodies and listen to live music the day before Labor Day at this kitschy Deep Ellum trailer bar. A new slate of brunch drinks is available from 1to 7 p.m. and includes Jerky Juice, a beef jerky-infused Bloody Mary, for $6. Or you can sip on Double Wide's famous Yoohoo Yeehaw for $6. Make the most of the three-day weekend by staying up late Sept. 6 for Sunday Night Jamz with DJ Blake Ward and special guest Blue the Misfit from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., when you'll also get $3 you-call-its. Other live music over the weekend includes Dangeroo and the Confounded on Sept. 4 and Dark Rooms, Picnictyme and Pageantry on Sept. 5.

Blackfriar Pub

Get frozen Moscow Mules made with Tito's vodka and housemade ginger beer for $8 all weekend at this Irish pub in Uptown. On Sept. 6 and 7, summer beers will be on special for $6. Local Tom Petty cover band Petty Theft will play Sept. 6 at 9 p.m. While you're in the neighborhood, mosey over to sister pubs Old Monk and Idle Rich, which are also having Labor Day specials and giveaways. 2621 McKinney Ave., Dallas. blackfriarpub.com.
