Dallasites have long been familiar with the undeniable charm of the Warwick Melrose Hotel, including the comfortable Library Bar. And now Business Insider is making the rest of the country aware, too.
The pub recently released a list of 30 "iconic" hotel bars not to miss, and Library Bar was the only Texas establishment to make the cut. So what about this watering hole won the writers over?
"Saddle up on the mirrored bar or find a cozy chair in the book nook and sip a cooling Aperol Spritz or maple- and bourbon-spiked 'Til Morning cocktail. The whiskey menu boasts Macallan 25-year and the wine list features 27 wines by the glass." -- BI
Ah, yes, the fine drink menu. Our Mr. Dallas says it recently got a much-needed makeover from manager Chad McClendon, formerly of the Mansion on Turtle Creek and Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck. McClendon's "blown the dust off the bar shelves by featuring craft spirits more common to mixology bars than hotel lounges." He's also introduced fresh juices and homemade syrups to the mix.
Library Bar was among other esteemed national bars, such as Carousel Bar (Hotel Monteleone) in New Orleans, the Pump Room (Public Chicago) in Chicago, Bar Marmont (Chateau Marmont) in Hollywood, California, and Clockwork Tower (New York Edition) in New York. You can view the whole list here.
