Luke Bryan needed a few extra beauty minutes Friday morning before -- and during -- an Academy of Country Music Awards press conference. As his co-host Blake Shelton took the stage to answer media questions, Bryan was MIA.
He arrived a few minutes after the press conference began, apologizing. "It's a lot of work getting prepared to look better than Blake," Bryan quipped. Touché.
When asked which artists each co-host are excited to see at the live-in-Arlington awards show Sunday night, Bryan chose openers Eric Church and Keith Urban. Shelton went another direction: "Obviously, I'm my favorite." The joke continued when Shelton was asked who he thought would win Male Vocalist of the Year, an award both co-hosts are nominated for alongside Church, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley and Brad Paisley.
"I'm going to take the high road here," Shelton said, "and say I do [deserve the Male Vocalist of the Year award most]."
